Breaking Limits! Thriving with Type 1 Diabetes & Tubeless Tech.
Helen was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes twenty years ago, but not without challenges. With no family history and classic symptoms, she was initially misdiagnosed with a UTI. Two weeks later, the real cause was revealed: Type 1 diabetes.
After years of managing her diabetes with injections, Helen eventually moved to a tubed pump, but wearing it meant having her diabetes on display; either clipped to her belt or packed in a bumbag which wasn’t ideal. That all changed four years ago, when she switched to the TouchCare Nano System.
Helen says: “My first pump was a tubed pump; I couldn’t hide the pump. I hated my diabetes being on display all the time. The Medtrum patch pump is discreet. No one can see it whether I am wearing a suit in business meetings, lycra in the gym or jeans down the pub.”
By profession Helen is a software engineer and has found using EasyView to interpret her data and then fine-tune her diabetes management has been exceptionally helpful. Whether it’s the gym, rock climbing, hiking or cycling, she lives life without limits.
Type 1 diabetes doesn’t have to hold you back. With the right technology, you can take control and do whatever you set your mind to.
