I’ve been living with Type 1 diabetes since 1992, so yes, we’re basically lifelong roommates.
Before Medtrum, I used insulin pens and another CGM. It worked, but it also meant thinking ahead all the time. Not exactly spontaneous.
What pulled me to Medtrum? The Nano patch is tiny and everything runs from my phone. No extra device, no extra mental load.
The biggest win: freedom. I can go out for lunch or dinner without planning my entire life around it. That may sound small, but it really isn’t. The patch is comfortable, easy to apply, and most of the time I forget it’s there (which, for diabetes tech, is kind of the dream).
Medtrum still flies a bit under the radar, so when I meet other people with Type 1, especially while traveling, I get a lot of curious looks and questions.
After almost 34 years with diabetes, anything that gives me more flexibility is a win. And the Medtrum system definitely does.
