"I don't have to do everything on my own. I can rely on people — and nowadays, also on technology."
I don't remember life without diabetes. Maybe that's why I never saw myself as a sick person, and I believe that mindset helped me achieve everything I wanted in life. I've never been a fan of excuses.
As an adult, I realized I don't have to do everything on my own. I can rely on people - and nowadays, also on technology. That was a real game changer for me.
I started with pens and needles, without glucose monitoring or anything digital. It was just me and my mom filling notebooks until the next doctor's appointment, counting carbs and calculating doses based mostly on assumptions. Then came the first pump systems, which already felt revolutionary, but the wires, ripped-out sets, disconnecting for every shower, workout, or swim... it was far from simple. Somehow, diabetes technology and I grew up together.
Today, I'm 34 years old - an architect, a mom, and someone living well with diabetes, without complications, while using every piece of technology that truly suits my needs.
I have been using the Medtrum Nano system for almost a year now, and I'm currently using it in Auto Mode. My results are about 15% better than before.
Honestly, the first reason I chose the Medtrum Nano system was the design: small, round, tubeless, and comfortable to wear. For the first time, I felt like I was wearing something I actually liked, not just something I had to have attached to me.
I know a lot younger people that are refusing pumps because of the"large thing" attached to their body is not comfortable and they are very surprised with nano once they see it on me.
It's not flawless, but I've learned how to make it work for me - and today I can say it fully supports my lifestyle.
